If the saying “you are what you eat” is true, without a doubt, I would be a greasy slice of pepperoni pizza. I eat pizza at least 10 times a week. I’m aware there are only 7 days in a week so you do the math. I don’t discriminate either, I love all kinds of pizza… homemade, wood oven, frozen. If there is dough, sauce, cheese and pepperoni, chances are I will eat it and enjoy it!
I don’t even know how people live being gluten-free or lactose intolerant. A life without a greasy pizza just isn’t worth living or so I use to think.
All this pizza indulging has not be kind to my waist line. I don’t blame it entirely on pizza but when I look back at my food journal, one 5 letter word happens to jump out daily and it’s not salad.
As my birthday quickly approaches, I have decided that I am giving myself the gift of healthy eating. Until further notice, pizza and I have mutually decided to an amicable separation. We will remain good friends and will work on finding a way to continue being in each other’s lives. Pizza has always been a delicious meal and I will always be thankful to pizza for being so easily available and always under 5 bucks. I will use this time to allow my taste buds the opportunity to experience other flavours and look forward to embracing more mixed greens in my life.
I am not asking for privacy at this time because sh*t just got real. A life with no pizza!?!?! I’ve never suffered heartbreak like this before so I’ve enlisted the help of Sam Gladish, a holistic nutritionist to guide me during this difficult transition. She has programmed my phone to re-direct all calls to Pizza Pizza directly to her and will be available to work through the daily struggle of figuring out “what’s for lunch?”
